About Still I Rise Counseling Services

I am passionate about helping others tap into their inner strengths and identify what may be in their path preventing healing and growth. I challenge my clients in ways that create an “ah ha” experience. I am also dedicated to helping individuals seeking to overcome alcohol and/or substance use dependence begin their journey to rise and maintain a healthier, sober lifestyle. Additionally, supporting family and friends who endure the painful reality of their loved one’s alcohol and/or substance use dependence is dear to my heart.

I have expertise working with diverse populations (e.g. LGBTQIA+, People of Color, Black men and women, individuals with disabilities), and I craft a culturally congruent space to discuss personal beliefs, internalized oppression and generational traumas.

In my therapeutic work, I meet clients where they are. I approach counseling through an eclectic lens where I incorporate a variety of theories and utilize evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR, Family Systems.

Lastly, I am an advocate for Black women, and I do not take for granted being able to work with women like me. I recognize the rarity in being able to remove the “superwoman” cape and carrying the burden of others, while not feeling safe enough to share your own.
