Hello, I am Dr. Azubike Aliche, DSW, LICSW, LCSW-C, CEO and Founder of Power Counseling PLLC. I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and psychotherapist with a commitment to providing compassionate, evidence-based, and culturally responsive mental health care. I earned my MSW from Rutgers University in 2007 and completed my Doctorate in Clinical Social Work and Leadership from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 2015.

I began private practice work in 2012 in New Jersey and expanded Power Counseling PLLC in 2017 to serve individuals and families across Washington, DC, Maryland, Virginia, and New Jersey. My clinical approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) to support healing, growth, and lasting change.

At Power Counseling, we offer integrated, client-centered care through a diverse team of therapists dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive, and affirming space for all clients, including marginalized communities. Our services are designed to support a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, addiction, life transitions, anger management, and gender-related issues.

To enhance continuity of care, we also have a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner who provides psychiatric evaluations and medication management in Washington, DC and Maryland, as well as psychiatric evaluations in Virginia. In addition, our Health and Wellness Coach, led by a Registered Nurse, offers supportive coaching focused on lifestyle balance, stress management, and overall wellness.

We accept most major commercial insurance plans, including DC and Virginia Medicaid as well as Medicare, to help improve access to quality mental health care services.

I also provide financial coaching and supervise MSW interns, supporting the development of future social workers while maintaining a strong commitment to accessibility, integrity, and high-quality care across all services offered at Power Counseling PLLC.
