I am a dedicated Mental Health Professional with over 25 years experience providing therapeutic services to individuals, families, couples, groups as well as inpatient, residential, and community based populations. My many areas of expertise include substance abuse, trauma, family systems, solution-focussed, premarital counseling, couples, anxiety, depression, personality disorders, grief, and adjustment disorders. I am also trained in treating children and adolescents and parenting issues. . I have substantial experience in assessment, and comprehensive evaluations of general functioning. Through my own personal as well as professional experiences, I also gained invaluable experience in parenting and family dynamics involving children experiencing mental health challenges and in successfully circumventing the unique challenges of accessing mental health, and school based services for children including navigating the IEP system in our educational systems. I am a published researcher who has participated and led research initiatives into the unique psychosocial stressors BIPOC members experience as it relates to their mental health.
