About Mixed Roots Psychotherapy

At Mixed Roots, we understand that identity is not always simple. Many of our clients are mixed-race or BIPOC and are carrying questions, pressure, and pain that don’t fit neatly into one box.

We support people who want a therapist who gets the nuance of growing up between cultures, managing family tension, dealing with racial stress, and trying to hold it all together while still showing up in work, school, and relationships.

Our approach is warm, direct, relational, and steeped in the intersecting contexts/histories that shape your story. We work to not only reduce your symptoms but ultimately to help you discover the roots of your pain, make meaning of your story, create healthy relationships with yourself and others, and take steps to live well.
