About Ronisha Carpenter
It is difficult to ask for help but here you are. I want you to know that you are not alone. I have seen many people suffering from emotional pain and trauma in the body for years. I strongly encourage my patients to work through their emotions, stressors and past in therapy. Sometimes, though, it is necessary to add medications, supplements or other treatments. This is where I can be helpful. I am a psychiatric physician associate or physician assistant who is board certified by the National Association on the Credentialing of PAs. I work primarily virtually with patients in Illinois, Oklahoma, Georgia and Florida. I have studied psychopharmacology, holistic therapies and mind-body medicine. The addition of medicine is not always required and is often not permanent. Many people worry about becoming addicted or dependent on medications or that it will change their personality. Most of the time, it can help you regulate your emotions in a healthier way, maximize therapy, learn and access your coping skills, and rest better. It is important to be aware that pills do not fix everything and can only be part of your overall wellness and healing. My goal for most patients, as recommended by treatment guidelines, is to take medication for about one to two years, while they work in therapy and until there is more emotional stability and acute stressors have abated. I always tailor treatment recommendations to the patient’s needs and include you, your thoughts and expectations in my treatment plans. I have special interests in anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, chronic illness. I would be happy to meet with you and see how or if I could be helpful. Please don’t hesitate to email me.
