About Fatima James-Miller, LMHC, LPC, NCC

If you found yourself here, it is because you have achieved the first step in recognizing that something has to change. You have decided to face your obstacles and take the path to healing. You are now ready to regain control over your life while developing a greater sense of self, acceptance of yourself and healing from the things that has kept you stuck for so long. You are willing and ready to re-define and re-align yourself with a new and improved purposeful story for your life. You’re ready to let go of fear and feelings of not being enough. Well, I’m here to tell you that you are enough! You’re the expert of your life, therefore I will meet you where you are as we work together in a collaborative and supportive relationship towards a brighter and better YOU!

I’m a BIPOC Licensed Mental Health Counselor in NY, a Licensed Professional Counselor for NJ, and a National Certified Counselor™. I’m also a member of the American Counseling Association and NYMHCA. I have degrees in B.A. in Psychology and M.S in Mental Health Counseling from Queens College. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, young adults and families multiculturally.

I believe to achieve success in therapy first starts with the therapeutic relationship. This relationship is a collaborative relationship that takes effort from both the client and therapist. It relies on being honest, non-judgmental, empathetic, and developing a safe, encouraging and trusting environment for all my clients. I believe the client is the expert of their lives and therefore I will meet you right where you are as we take this journey together.
